Established in 2015, FRI realizes the potential of feminism to transform academic research. FRI develops and supports leading-edge, interdisciplinary scholarship that aims to create a more just society by challenging structures of inequality in and outside the academy. The broad purview of feminist research is sex and gender in their intersection with other categories of difference such as race, class, sexuality, religion, nationality, and ability.
