Join Dr. Suad Joseph for a half-day proposal writing workshop that will provide you with the tools you need to create a “maximal” research proposal. This proposal includes all components that could be required, which enables you to quickly and efficiently respond to funding opportunities as they arise. This is particularly valuable for projects geared toward transformative work that seeks to address inequalities. For more than three decades, Dr. Joseph has trained scholars in the skills of proposal writing and research design. Currently, she runs multiple-year mentorship and training programs leading the Training to Transformative Gender Research in partnership with the Arab Council for the Social Sciences.

About Dr. Suad Joseph: Dr. Joseph is a Distinguished Research Professor of Anthropology and Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies. She's taught at at UC Davis since 1976 and has had immeasurable impact here, founding the Middle East/South Asia Studies Program at UC Davis, founding and directing the UC Davis Arab Region Consortium, and serving as founding Chair of the Board of the Feminist Research Institute. Dr. Joseph is also the founder of the Middle East Research Group in Anthropology (which evolved into the Middle East Section of the American Anthropological Association), founder of the Association for Middle East Women's Studies and the Arab Families Research Group. She is the author of countless influential books, edited volumes and articles and is the recipient of numerous research grants. For years, she has helped graduate students and faculty craft their own successful grant proposals.
