2024 Undergraduate Research Interns
Kaitlyn Duong
Kaitlyn Duong is a junior majoring in Economics and minoring in Communications at UC Davis. Harnessing her relentless appetite for learning, strategic thinking, and creativity, she hopes to pursue people-centric corporate communications and legal opportunities where she can build her technical and interpersonal skills. She strongly values equity, and currently serve as a Community Development Associate on the Davis Pre-Law Society board. Kaitlyn has also previously worked as a research assistant at Stanford’s Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research, and recently worked as a Global Communications intern with Logitech. With diverse experience working in communities that value DEI and sustainability, Kaitlin is excited to learn more about actively incorporating feminism in everyday life, and building communities that strive for equity in research, classes and beyond. She is incredibly eager to be a sponge as a FRI intern, and learn more about the applications and significance of feminism.
Abigail Ibarra-Iglesias
Abigail Ibarra-Iglesias is a 4th year Psychology and Gender, Sexuality, and Women's (GSW) double major. They utilize an intersectional feminist lens to whichever subject they study in courses and practice community care within the groups they interact with. As an Aggie Mental Health Ambassador and seasoned volunteer for the ASUCD Mental Health Initiative, they have experience with networking, collaboration, and organizing events. The combination of their disciplines challenges them to weave feminist research methods and philosophies into psychology. In their free time, they enjoy spending time with loved ones and discovering hiking trails.
Annabel Marshall
Annabel Marshall is a senior Cognitive Science and English double major, passionate about equity in education. As an ASPIRE Research Scholar and Provost's Undergraduate Fellow, she is completing an honors thesis in cognitive neuroscience, through which she's been exposed to the gaps between research and policy. Her interest is in understanding this divide, the ways academia and the public often fail each other, and what can be done to increase an equitable understanding of our world. When not in the lab, you might find Annabel writing for the school newspaper, moderating talks at the Cluster for Language Research conference, or volunteering at the local elementary school.

Centering on the value of empathy, she seeks to promote a world of respect between and within species, as well as toward the earth through her work.
