Research Update: Setting New Agendas in Mobility Justice
Mobility justice is an emerging movement and field that seeks to reconcile histories of injustice and reshape systems of power that produce unequal patterns of movement.
In November, Associate Director Sarah McCullough hosted a workshop on mobility justice, followed by presentations at the American Studies Association and the National Women’s Studies Association. The workshop convened leading researchers in mobility justice to identify future cross-disciplinary research collaborations, and was co-hosted with the National Center for Sustainable Transportation and ITS Davis. At ASA, McCullough participated in a panel titled, “Mobility Justice: Power, Policing, and Alternative Futures.” Her panel at NWSA was part of a double session, “Whose Right to the City? Feminist Crip Urbanism.” This research emerged from her participation in The Untokening, a multiracial collective dedicated to mobility justice.
