Halifu Osumare, professor emerita, Department of African American and African Studies, is The Sacramento Bee Book Club’s featured guest, for a discussion of her 2018 book, Dancing in Blackness: A Memoir, in which she relates her journey as a professional dancer over four decades, across three continents and 23 countries, and through defining moments in the story of black dance in America.  Book club meeting is hosted by Jack Ohman, editorial cartoonist for The Bee.
