Dr. Crump's research uncovers how the world could be with improved social inclusion and food security. In the current state of the world, inequities, climate change and cycles of poverty impact vulnerable farmers and rural communities. Her research, teaching, and outreach helps to understand marginalization, education (how people learn), and the adoption of technologies. The goals of her research team are to understand: (1) the kinds of policies that would increase resiliency and empowerment among different vulnerable agricultural populations, (2) learn which resiliency strategies are already working and whether they transfer elsewhere, and (3) develop or test novel extension, research, or training approaches that lead to climate change resiliency.
