Health Justice
Health is increasingly at the forefront of contemporary political and scholarly debates. Issues such as health care access, the impact of climate change on life-sustaining food and water systems, and the unequal distribution of morbidity and mortality across communities are era-defining challenges. We hosted the Feminist Health Justice Collective in 2022-2023 and explored the theme of Beyond Health in 2020-21 with a brilliant group of visiting scholars. Their work is celebrated in the Beyond Health video series.
Feminist Research
Key to FRI's work is exploring the depths of feminist research. We began this work by creating a video series exploring the question of What is Feminist Research? Our Feminist Collaboratory, Seed Grants, and Graduate Summer Research Fellowships funded research that pushed the boundaries of feminist theory and its applications. Feminist Futures, our 2019-2020 theme, studied the world with a critical lens cut by encounters with oppression and polished by hope for a better future. One highlight of Feminist Futures is the video series on Jasmine Wade's Archives of the Future.
