The Feminist Research Institute is thrilled to announce that Anna Ward, PhD has joined our team as our new Grants and Program Manager. In her new position, Ward will manage our internal grant programs as well as identify and facilitate external funding opportunities for feminist researchers on campus. The breadth and depth of her insights into feminist knowledge production will enable FRI to continue to expand our support of the UC Davis research community and champion ideas that are intersectional, inclusive, transformational, and justice-oriented.
Ward has a PhD in Women’s Studies from UCLA and a BA in Women’s Studies and Politics from UCSC and almost a decade of teaching experience in related fields. She was a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in the Gender and Sexuality Studies Program at Swarthmore College and served as their Program Coordinator. She also taught in the Program for the Study of Women and Gender at Smith College for several years before relocating to Sacramento. Her research appears in leading journals such as Camera Obscura, Social Psychology Quarterly, The Scholar and Feminist, Women’s Studies Quarterly, and Catalyst: Feminism, Theory, Technoscience. Her areas of specialization include sexuality studies, science and technology studies, queer and feminist theory, and embodiment studies. A selected publication list can be found on Ward's profile page.
