Announcing the 2018-19 Seed Grants

The Feminist Research Institute is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2018-2019 Seed Grants. The diverse group of project leaders come from more than 10 different UC Davis departments, institutes, and programs across campus. The awarded projects tackle a range of important and pressing issues, including environmental health, retention of Latina students at UC Davis, domestic violence in California, and empowering Sacramento-area Black girls to imagine radically new futures.

Seed Grants

The FRI Seed Grant Competition invites proposals from UC Davis faculty for collaborative projects that use feminist approaches to engage in transformative, trans-disciplinary research. Seed grant funding may be used to develop a promising idea, pilot-test a method, gather preliminary data, further an ongoing collaboration, or otherwise provide support that will improve a project’s chance of receiving external funding. Proposals are encouraged that involve collaboration with faculty from more than one college/school.
